of excellence in bicycling. We overlay the beautiful Red
River Gorge National Scenic Byway with bicycle
races, bicycle rallies, family fun rides and our Father’s
Day weekend “Bike with Dad” events.
Whether you are a serious bicycle racer or a weekend
leisure rider or just getting started, there is an event

| The
4th Annual John Bronaugh & Alex Yeakley Adopt-A-Crag Day. will be held
at the PMRP. This event is devoted to developing new routes at the PMRP
and supporting trail development. Held since 2005, this day honors the
legacy of the late John Bronaugh and the passion for climbing that he
shared with his late son Alex Yeakley. |

| UCLIMB |
All
UClimb events will offer the opportunity for climbing novices to receive
professional instruction and hands-on experience in a small group setting
while learning climbing techniques, how to use climbing gear, voice
commands, knot tying, belaying and etiquette. “Learning to rock
climb in small groups with other amateurs makes for a very comfortable
setting,” said Phil Bridgers, UClimb event coordinator. “These events
are a great event dedicated to bringing people across the country closer
to the outdoors.” UClimb events also offer participants
registration packages that include a low-cost purchase of basic climbing
gear for the two-day event. The package includes shoes, harness, belay
device, helmet, locking carabineer and a chalk bag.

8th Annual Rocktoberfest |
| Rocktoberfest
is an annual fun filled fundraising event to preserve the gorge and
surrounding areas for climbing and recreation. The goal of the October
2007 event is to raise $10,000 to $15,000 for the climber’s coalition. |
