| Climbing
and Conduct Code |

A climbing party of three is a minimum
unless adequate, prearranged support is available. A minimum of two
rope teams is recommended. |
 |
Rope up on all exposed places and for all
snow, ice, and glacier travel. Anchor all belays. |
 |
Keep the party together and obey the
leader or majority rule. |
 |
Never climb beyond your ability and
knowledge. |
 |
Never let judgment be overruled by desire
when choosing the route or deciding whether to turn back. |
 |
Carry the necessary clothing, food and
equipment at all times, including safety equipment. |
 |
Leave the trip itinerary with a responsible
person. |
 |
Follow the precepts of sound mountaineering
as set forth in textbooks of recognized merit. |
 |
Display a professional and courteous
attitude towards all team members and associates. |
 |
Behave at all times in a manner that
reflects favorably upon mountaineering, with minimum impact to the
environment. |

I have read and understand the above information.
I will follow these guidelines while participating in the True North
Outdoor Wilderness School program. If I break this code of
conduct, place myself or other members of the team at risk, wish to
discontinue the course, or refuse to follow instructions, upon the
guide's request, I will immediately discontinue the course with no
refund and move to safe ground.
